The Classic Volcanoes Ski trip
Puerto Mont is our starting point, where we meet at the airport and drive to the town of Ensenada, where we have dinner and get all ready for our first goal. Volcan Osorno, a perfectly cone by the Llanquihue lake will be our first summit, which we attempt early, descending its west and south faces. Next day we drive towards the town of Pucon with a stop at the Geometricas hot springs. From Pucon we ski Villarrica, an amazing mountain with an open crater at the top and later we move to Curacautin, an little town in the Araucania region. Llaima is our next mountain, which is the bigger one of the four and a real challenge to get to its smoky summit. Once at the valley, we take advantage of the Mallalcahuello hot springs before returning to town.
Our last day we visit Lonquimay, with its surreal landscape of Araucaria trees and fantastic skiing inside the crater. In the evening we visit Manzanar hot springs before our last dinner together, celebrated with a traditional Patagonian barbecue.
